Springburn Farmhouse

About Us

Our Story

We are Morris & Susan Payton and we look forward to welcoming you to our comfortable and spacious guest house. We relocated to the Highlands in 2019 to run Springburn Farmhouse – a deluxe, boutique style B&B which has been receiving rave reviews since it was refurbished and relaunched in 2020. From the moment you book your stay with us, we will work with you to ensure you have an enjoyable and relaxing time and, if required, we will help plan your itinerary, offering advice on the huge array of things to do and see in the area. Having spent a great deal of time travelling, we have seen accommodation of all standards so know what is important to our guests and will ensure you receive the same level of service and standard of accommodation we would like to receive ourselves. If, at any time, you need an extra something to enjoy your stay, don’t hesitate to let us know and we will do our utmost to assist.

In 2021 we opened our first 2 self-catering cabins adjacent the Farmhouse followed by a third cabin in 2022. These luxurious, dog friendly cabins provide everything needed to enjoy a relaxing Highland break with fully equipped kitchenettes, en-suite shower rooms and extensive external seating areas with BBQs and fire pits – see more about Stronaba Croft Cabins HERE

Why Us

SPRINGBURN FARMHOUSE

THE PERFECT PLACE TO STAY

Springburn Farmhouse features luxurious boutique style B&B in a superb location outside the village of Spean Bridge just north of Fort William in the West Highlands. The house has recently been refurbished providing a high quality of comfort to enjoy a relaxing break in the Highlands. Each room features spacious and well-appointed accommodation with en-suite shower rooms providing premium local toiletries, quality linens and luxurious soft fluffy towels. With comfortable king-sized beds, a dedicated seating area and in room refrigerator, you may find it difficult to leave at the end of your stay.

Externally, we provide a number of seating areas to take in the wonderful views of the local mountains and experience our spectacular sun sets. The farmhouse is located within 18-acres of our rugged but spectacular croft land with a great walk to a picnic table and view point on the hill behind the house. Look out for deer, sheep and our Highland cows grazing the fields around the house and you may see buzzards soaring overhead – this is a chance to get back to nature without giving up your creature comforts!

We are located just outside Spean Bridge – a small Highland village with a convenience store, post office, a couple of excellent restaurants, a pub and a great cafe. In addition, there is a huge selection of quality restaurants a short drive away in Fort William, which also features numerous shops, supermarkets, various attractions including the West Highland Museum and new a state-of-the-art cinema with cafe. We are the ideal location to take in the ‘Big 3’ of the West Highlands – Ben Nevis, Loch Ness, and the Isle of Skye. Also within easy reach are Glencoe, Oban and Mallaig along the stunning ‘Road to the Isles’.

One of the biggest local attractions is the Jacobite Steam Train journey from Fort William to Mallaig. Known as the ‘Hogwarts Express’ from the Harry Potter films, it crosses the magnificent Glenfinnan Viaduct – one of the most striking features of the Highlands. This trip can be combined with a short wildlife cruise in Mallaig where you are likely to see dolphins, basking sharks, seals and sea eagles. Tickets for the Steam Train need to be booked well in advance.

With so much to do and see locally, we are happy to help you plan your itinerary and offer advice on local activities
